Folksonomies + Tagging = Delicious

Delicious is delicious. We are now able to take our favourites with us when we work on any computer. What a great idea! I see it as particularly important for people with similar jobs to network and quickly access relevant and new sites that others have found. Word clouds are useful too. Bookmarked Library thing in Delicious and adding books to my own Library Thing is remarkably easy! This are my links Library Thing and Delicious :)

RSS Feeds

RSS Feeds...yet another great time saver. A place to go to get all recent news and blog posts at once. I'm using Google Reader, and chose ABC and Courier Mail news, as well as the recommended opal training one. :)

Social networking

LTTD#4 is social networking. As many of you know I LOVE it. I have reconnected with many friends from way back. I think we must always be cautious when networking online however, remembering that it is in the public domain. I don't ever accept requests from people I don't know. Many businesses and corporations have a facebook (and similar) presence now and this is an excellent promotion and marketing tool. Find me on fb :)

Wiki exploring

The Licence2testdrive #3 session on exploring Wiki's has been interesting. It brings up interesting questions when anyone can register and edit posts on Wikis. Hopefully most people who edit are responsible. I like the way wiki's can be used to share information for a group. All the information is then in a central location so all members of the group can access the same information and add to it. :)

I did my next step on the licence to test drive and had a go at flikr. Getting there! :)

Yes...better post again b4 i forget all i've learned. I am following all my colleagues blogs now and may just venture into the big world of blogging outside libraries :)

I appreciate the chance to learn new things. To learn how to blog and use many new technologies you have to have the chance and the time to play with them !!! You need to play with and explore the technology, and then you learn how to use it. Learn by doing!! My philosophy of education!

I am a strong believer in the Lifelong Learner! Everyone learns all through their life no matter what their age.

I am new to blogging but I can see that it could become addictive. It's about sharing information and about having your voice heard. It enables people to have access to news and ideas all over the world and having input into these.

Blogging in a library is yet another way of providing information for our clients. It is essential for libraries to keep up with current innovations in information management. It also provides clients with a forum to have their opinions, suggestions and ideas heard.
